This project is a celebration of warmth, light, and understated elegance, drawing inspiration from the principles of Scandinavian and Japanese design. The interior is defined by a deep respect for natural materials and a commitment to creating a space that feels both expansive and intimately connected to its surroundings.
Inside, the home is a tranquil sanctuary. Walls, ceilings, and floors are clad in light, untreated plywood and pine, creating a seamless and calming environment. The generous use of wood gives the space a rustic charm, while the minimalist forms and clean lines maintain a thoroughly modern feel.
Thoughtful details abound, from the built-in storage and slatted wooden radiator covers to the custom-built platform beds and integrated headboards in the bedrooms. The bathrooms shift the material palette to a sophisticated mix of speckled terrazzo-like tile and sleek, modern fixtures. The kitchen, with its vibrant green subway tile backsplash, provides a bold, playful contrast to the darker countertops and raw mdf cabinetry. A dedicated sauna, finished in light wood, offers a cozy and authentic space for relaxation.
Even the transitional spaces are meticulously designed. Hallways and stairwells feature integrated shelving and a mix of raw concrete ceilings and exposed conduits, which add a subtle, industrial touch that beautifully balances the home's more rustic elements.
IKI it's a holistic vision of a modern retreat. It demonstrates how a minimalist approach, combined with a focus on quality materials and craftsmanship, can result in a truly timeless and inviting space that feels at one with its stunning natural environment.
