I am Andrei Butușină, an architect and designer with a deep-rooted passion for creating spaces that are both beautiful and profoundly functional. Based in Bucharest, my design journey is shaped by a philosophy that values collaboration, craftsmanship, and a seamless connection between form and purpose.
In 2014, I co-founded CRAFTR with Cătălin Sandu, a partnership built on over a decade of shared experience. Our time as designers at LifeEdited from 2010 to 2017 was foundational, where we honed our skills on a diverse range of challenging and rewarding projects in dynamic cities like New York, Maui, Toronto, and Rio de Janeiro. This period instilled in me a unique appreciation for efficient design and the art of transforming spaces to meet modern life's complex demands.
I am a strong believer in the power of partnership. My work is consistently enriched by the perspectives of talented collaborators, including Eliza Yokina from CUMULUS and the dedicated team at AAIM, Alexandra Mitruș, Andrei Mitruș & Simona Meilescu. I believe in a collaborative design process, where diverse ideas and expertise are woven together to create a unique and cohesive project.
My passion for design extends beyond the architectural scale to the meticulous creation of furniture and objects. This pursuit is explored through my work at lmnt workshop, where I engage deeply with materials and forms. This holistic approach ensures that every element within a space—from the structure to the smallest detail—is carefully considered and contributes to a cohesive and meaningful whole.
For me, the best results are born from a true partnership with our clients. I work closely with my clients to translate their vision into a space that is not only beautiful but also resonant with their life and values.
I'd love to hear about your project ideas and partner with you to turn them into a reality.
