The core vision for Studio AB is to create a dialogue between the raw, industrial "bones" of the structure and a tailored interior intervention. The design embraces the principles of Structural Honesty and Tectonic Contrast, treating the exposed board-formed concrete ceiling as a textured canvas that grounds the project. This approach prioritizes a refined "machine for living" that feels both rugged and meticulously crafted.
The interior architecture operates through a disciplined material triad to define its spatial logic:
Exposed Concrete: Provides a brutalist, tactile weight and structural authenticity.
Warm Oak Joinery: Introduces organic texture and human-scale warmth, used for focal cabinetry and the sleeping alcove.
Matte Black & Deep Tones: Used to anchor the kitchen and bathroom, creating visual depth and a sense of permanence.
The studio maximizes its compact footprint through high-performance programmatic interventions:
The Integrated Media Spine: A skeletal, white steel shelving system provides storage without obstructing visual flow, maintaining the apartment’s volumetric clarity.
Sculptural Millwork: The kitchen is treated as a monolithic insertion, utilizing a horizontal material split to transition seamlessly from utility to living space.
The Loggia "Green Lung": The outdoor transition serves as a sheltered buffer, using wood cladding and tiered greenery to curate privacy and filter natural light.
In essence, Studio AB is a exercise in Industrial Refinement, balancing a rugged shell with an interior experience that prioritizes quiet organization, material honesty, and spatial fluidity.
