The vision for Apartment CB is to create a vibrant, expressive living space that celebrates the intersection of Industrial Brutalism and Playful Geometry. The design embraces the principle of Exposed Tectonics, utilizing the raw concrete shell as a grounding element for a series of bold, colorful interventions. This approach prioritizes a "loft-style" honesty, where structural elements and functional systems are visible, intentional parts of the aesthetic narrative.

The interior logic relies on a disciplined yet energetic triad of materials:

  • Exposed Board-Formed Concrete: Serves as a raw, monochromatic "sky" that provides textural continuity and industrial character across all zones.

  • Warm Oak & Timber: Used for flooring and base cabinetry to introduce a natural, grounding warmth that balances the coolness of the overhead concrete.

  • Terracotta & Graphic Accents: A signature clay-red palette is applied to the skeletal shelving and custom lighting, injecting a rhythmic, contemporary energy into the open-plan volume.

The project maximizes its spatial impact through high-contrast programmatic interventions:

  • The Tectonic Shelving Spine: A slender, terracotta-colored steel grid acts as a semi-permeable divider, providing extensive display space while maintaining visual connections between the entry and living areas.

  • The Culinary Monolith: The kitchen features a sophisticated material stack: oak lower units, a dark speckled stone backsplash, and matte black uppers, all framed by expressed electrical conduits that trace a graphic pattern across the ceiling.

  • Sculptural Private Quarters: The bedroom continues the "furniture-as-architecture" theme with a custom plywood platform bed and an integrated, wrap-around headboard. A dedicated oak-lined "alcove" provides a secondary pocket of intimacy within the room.

  • Graphic Lighting Choreography: Custom tubular pendants in matching terracotta tones serve as functional sculptures, punctuating the dining and sleeping zones with geometric precision.

In essence, Apartment CB is a exercise in Curated Industrialism, balancing the rugged authenticity of its shell with an interior experience that prioritizes bold color, material honesty, and a highly articulated sense of craft.
